Mahesh babu asks : I didnt understand the problem? The floor of a swimming pool (dimension: 48 m × 24 m) is to be covered using tiles of dimensions 8 cm 12 cm. The depth of the pool at the shallow end is 1m and at the deep end is 21 m. How many pieces of tiles are required to cover the floor of the pool completely? Assume no wastage.

in my opinion this is a straight forward question. the depth terms are given to create some doubt in students mind. area to be covered by tiles is - 48 x 24 = 1152sq. m area of each tile is - .08 x .12 = .0096sq. m no of tiles required is - 1152/.0096 = 1,20,000.
