STEPS Methodology
The STEPS curriculum is a unique blend of teaching, testing and remedial action. Our teaching approach is comprehension based. It aims to cement the student's foundations. This approach is different from the conventional teaching followed in schools and elsewhere.
Our aim is to prepare the students on long-term basis so that they are well equipped to face competition after standard X.
The entire syllabus covered in NCERT textbooks has been divided scientifically into units, such that each unit can be covered into three classes of 1.5 hours.

Components of this program
Study material
Our study material is a bunch of 65 units comprising Sciences and Mathematics. The study material is completely in line with the NCERT Text books. The language is easy to read and comprehend. Solved examples and practice exercises, sprinkled in between, ensure that the student grasps each concept well. The material is provided to the students a few days in advance to enable them to have a reading before they come to the class. This ensures that the students understand the concepts easily and are able to clear all their doubts in the class.
The classroom
The STEPS classroom is a place where the teachers maintain a democratic environment, where the student is actually encouraged to ask questions. We take great pride in stating that even the most introvert of the students opens up in this environment in about a month. The Teachers at STEPS are Postgraduate professionals committed to teaching at our centers. The aim of the classroom is to create interest for the relevant subjects in the mind of the child.
Formative Assessment Tests
Formative testing is done a few days after the class, during which the student reads the material thoroughly and appears for the test. The test is of 30 min duration and covers a unit each of math and science. A feedback is given to the student along with the results. The feedback helps the students know the areas where they need to work harder. Armed with this knowledge they prepare for the subjective test.
Summative Assessment Tests
The summative testing is of 1 hr duration and a student is required to score at least 80% marks in Sciences and Mathematics. If the student fails, he is required to take the test again. This ensures that the student is thorough with the complete syllabus.
Practicals MCQs
STEPS is the only institution that is training its students on the Science practical MCQs and project work, which makes up 20% of their marks in the board examinations.
Programs after course coverage
After the students complete the syllabus they get into a rigorous testing and remediation mode. The students are taught the nuances of test taking, from chapter wise tests, to sectional tests, to full Length tests. By the end of this program, the student starts scoring 95%+ in the toughest of tests.
UNIQUE BENEFITS
The child undergoes NCERT curriculum based training He studies in an environment where he is constantly encouraged to speak. A curiosity and interest is generated in the child towards subjects which motivates him to study.
He aspires for 100% and achieves it.
The Faculty
The faculty at STEPS is selected through
a rigorous screening procedure where the selection rate is
